Product description

Winterised organic moringa seed oil is the cold-stable variant of cold-pressed ben oil. Winterisation reduces the higher-melting fat fractions, so that the oil remains clear even at low temperatures. This makes this grade particularly suitable for transparent oil products, spray applications and formulations that require a uniform appearance even at lower temperatures.

For this grade, the seeds of the moringa tree are cold-pressed and the oil obtained is then winterised. It is characterised by its content of behenic acid, a long-chain fatty acid that complements the distinctive fatty acid profile of moringa seed oil.

In formulation terms, moringa seed oil is characterised by a high proportion of oleic acid, complemented by behenic acid as well as palmitic and stearic acid. The oil has high oxidative stability, absorbs quickly and leaves a light sensory profile. The winterised grade extends the range of applications, particularly for clear and oil-based formulations.

The product is suitable for clear facial and body oils, oil serums, sprays, emulsions and hair care formulations. Our moringa seed oil is also available in non-winterised, cold-pressed quality.

Obtained by pressing without external heat, then filtered – neither refined nor deodorised.

The term ‘cold-pressed’ means that the oil has been obtained by pressing without the application of external heat and then filtered. It is neither refined nor deodorised. The term gives no precise indication of the temperature actually reached.

Cold-pressed oils have a limited shelf life and – with a few exceptions – should not be heated to high temperatures.

Cooled to 5–15 °C and the wax crystals filtered off – the oil stays clear even in the refrigerator.

For all unprocessed and further processed oils, there is another purely physical process: winterisation. The oil is cooled to 5–15 °C over a certain period. In this temperature range, wax crystals form, which are then filtered off.

The advantage: the oil stays clear even at low temperatures, e.g. in the refrigerator.
