Product description
Cold-pressed organic apricot kernel oil is a light base oil for cosmetic formulations. The yellow oil has a mild nutty scent, absorbs quickly and leaves a silky, non-greasy skin feel. It is suitable for formulations that call for a light sensory profile.
For our organic apricot kernel oil, only the kernels of sweet organic apricots are processed. The kernels are a by-product of dried fruit and fruit spread production and are processed further as part of an upcycling concept. Gentle cold pressing without refining turns them into a cosmetic raw material.
Apricot kernel oil contains oleic and linoleic acid in particular, giving it a fatty acid composition similar to that of sweet almond oil. It can therefore be used in formulations as an alternative to sweet almond oil. Thanks to its light sensory profile, it is suitable for both oil blends and emulsions.
The product is suitable for facial fluids, body oils, hair oils, after-sun products and other cosmetic formulations.

Apricot kernel oil – ‘makes the skin glow’
Apricots were already being cultivated 5,000 years ago. The Armenians were long regarded as the best apricot growers, which is why the Romans called this fruit Malum armenicum, the ‘Armenian apple’. Obtaining the valuable kernel oil with its delicate scent of marzipan has a long tradition; in the past it was very popular for skin care, especially in hot countries.
