AOT Antioxidants

AOT supplies natural antioxidants to protect oxidation-sensitive raw materials and cosmetic formulations. Our own StoppOx® range comprises practical antioxidant systems based on tocopherols, rosemary extract, ethyl ferulate, ascorbyl palmitate and hop extracts.

The antioxidants help to protect oils, butters and emulsions against oxidation. This reliably supports the stability and shelf life of the raw materials used as well as the quality of the finished product. 

StoppOx® – tailored antioxidant systems

Unsaturated plant oils are valuable components of cosmetic formulations but are sensitive to oxygen, light and heat. Oxidative processes can lead to sensory changes, degradation of sensitive constituents and a shorter shelf life.

StoppOx® offers different types of antioxidants for this purpose:

  • StoppOx® Toco 70 – mixed tocopherols as a natural vitamin E complex
  • StoppOx® RE 60 – rosemary CO₂ extract
  • StoppOx® Lipid – antioxidant system for use in oils and oil phases
  • StoppOx® Emulsion – antioxidant system for W/O and O/W formulations
  • StoppOx® EF – ethyl ferulate as a natural antioxidant and for colour stabilisation
  • StoppOx® AP – ascorbyl palmitate, a fat-soluble vitamin C derivative for use in oil-containing formulations and emulsions

The different types allow a targeted choice depending on the formulation, raw material base, processing temperature and desired labelling. 

Quality, transparency and application support

We work with selected suppliers and long-term partners and pay close attention to transparent supply chains and traceable raw material origin. We also develop upcycling projects in which suitable side streams are processed into high-quality cosmetic raw materials.

The antioxidants we manufacture and trade are monitored by AOT’s in-house laboratory and by accredited external testing laboratories. Relevant quality parameters and product specifications are checked regularly to ensure consistent quality and reliable processing in your formulations.
