Coconut Oil virgin, organic

Virgin organic coconut oil is a versatile plant-based fat for cosmetic formulations. At room temperature it is white and solid; at higher temperatures it becomes liquid and clear. Its intense natural coconut scent is characteristic and should be taken into account accordingly when developing the fragrance concept.

The fat is obtained from the flesh of the coconut and processed as a virgin oil. This preserves the characteristic coconut scent and the typical sensory properties of this grade.

In formulation terms, the fatty acid profile is shaped in particular by lauric and myristic acid, complemented by palmitic and oleic acid. Its characteristic melting behaviour makes coconut oil a versatile base fat for balms, body butters and other anhydrous formulations. In oil blends, it can also be combined with other plant oils and speciality oils.

The product is suitable for balms, body butters, massage products, hair care, soaps and other cosmetic formulations. For formulations in which the characteristic coconut scent should have as little influence as possible on the fragrance concept, coconut oil is also available as a deodorised organic grade.
