Product description

Virgin organic avocado oil is a rich plant oil for cosmetic formulations. The greenish oil is characterised by its typical herbaceous, fruity avocado scent and its rich sensory profile. As a virgin, unrefined oil, it may contain natural sediment that can settle at the bottom of the container.

The oil is obtained from the avocado fruit and processed as a virgin oil. This preserves the characteristic colour and natural scent of the oil.

In formulation terms, avocado oil is characterised by a high proportion of oleic acid, complemented by palmitic, palmitoleic and linoleic acid. This composition makes it a rich formulation component for care concepts that call for a richer oil phase and sensory profile. It can be used in oil blends as well as in emulsions and hair care formulations.

The product is suitable for facial and body oils, rich creams, night and eye care and hair care formulations. For formulations with specific requirements for behaviour at low temperatures, a winterised grade is also available.

Obtained by pressing without external heat, then filtered – neither refined nor deodorised.

The term ‘cold-pressed’ means that the oil has been obtained by pressing without the application of external heat and then filtered. It is neither refined nor deodorised. The term gives no precise indication of the temperature actually reached.

Cold-pressed oils have a limited shelf life and – with a few exceptions – should not be heated to high temperatures.
