Product description
Refined organic babassu oil is an odour-neutral plant-based fat for cosmetic formulations and is a suitable alternative to coconut oil. The whitish, soft fat absorbs quickly and is characterised by a silky, supple sensory profile without a sticky skin feel. Thanks to its neutral natural odour, it can be integrated flexibly into different fragrance concepts.
Refining gives babassu oil its sensorially neutral character. This makes it suitable for formulations in which the natural odour of the plant-based fat used should have as little influence as possible on the end product.
In formulation terms, babassu oil has a fatty acid composition similar to that of coconut oil. Its high lauric acid content is characteristic, complemented by myristic, palmitic and oleic acid. This allows it to be used in a range of wax-oil systems, emulsions and anhydrous formulations. In soap making, the fatty acid profile supports lather formation and consistency.
The product is suitable for skin and hair care formulations, emulsions, balms and soap making.
