Product description
Cold-pressed organic moringa seed oil, traditionally also known as ben oil, is a light plant oil for cosmetic formulations. The yellow oil absorbs quickly and leaves a light sensory profile. It is characterised by its content of behenic acid, a long-chain fatty acid that complements the oil’s distinctive fatty acid profile.
The oil is obtained from the seeds of the moringa tree by gentle cold pressing. Processing it as a virgin oil preserves its characteristic colour and sensory properties.
In formulation terms, moringa seed oil is characterised by a high proportion of oleic acid, complemented by behenic acid as well as palmitic and stearic acid. The oil has high oxidative stability, making it a versatile formulation component for oil blends and emulsions. Its light sensory profile allows use in formulations that require good absorption.
The product is suitable for facial and body oils, creams and emulsions, massage oils and hair care formulations. Moringa seed oil is also available as a winterised variant.
