AOT Macerates & infused oils

AOT supplies high-quality macerates for the development and manufacture of cosmetic products. For these traditional infused oils, flowers, herbs or roots are macerated in a plant-based carrier oil over a defined period. During this process, the oil takes up the oil-soluble constituents and characteristic accompanying substances of the respective plant.

The result is versatile speciality oils – from European classics such as calendula, arnica and St John’s wort to Ayurvedic-inspired extracts such as amla and ashwagandha root macerate. 

Controlled production and a diverse range of raw materials

During maceration, plant parts are extracted in a suitable carrier oil over several weeks. Depending on the raw material, dried or fresh plant parts are used. Calendula and arnica flowers, for example, are processed dried, while St John’s wort can be macerated as a fresh herb.

The carrier oil takes up oil-soluble plant compounds such as carotenoids, flavonoids and other characteristic accompanying substances. Our range includes:

We work with selected suppliers and long-standing partners and attach importance to transparent supply chains and traceable raw material origin. Where possible, we also develop upcycling solutions in which plant-based side streams are refined into high-quality cosmetic raw materials.

The macerates we manufacture and trade are monitored by AOT’s in-house laboratory and by accredited external testing laboratories. Relevant quality parameters and product specifications are checked regularly to ensure consistent quality and reliable processing in your formulations.
