Product description
Organic refined low-oleic (LO) sunflower oil is a base oil rich in linoleic acid for cosmetic formulations. The almost colourless and odourless oil is suitable for formulations in which the base oil should have as little influence as possible on colour and fragrance.
The organic sunflower oil is refined, which reduces its colour and characteristic natural odour. This gives the LO grade a sensorially understated character and allows it to be integrated flexibly into different fragrance and formulation concepts.
From a formulation perspective, the low-oleic grade is characterised in particular by its high proportion of linoleic acid, complemented by oleic acid and palmitic acid. This fatty acid profile makes the oil a versatile building block for cosmetic oil phases, oil blends and emulsions. Because of its profile rich in linoleic acid, oxidative stability should be taken into account during storage and formulation development.
The product is suitable for creams and lotions, body and massage oils, cleansing oils, bath products and other cosmetic formulations. Sunflower oil is also available as a cold-pressed low-oleic (LO) grade and as a refined high-oleic (HO) grade.
