Product description
Organic cold-pressed sesame oil is a versatile base oil for cosmetic formulations. The mild oil has a subtle, nutty natural odour and is characterised by a balanced ratio of oleic acid and linoleic acid. Its understated sensory profile allows it to be used in a range of skin and hair care formulations.
The oil is obtained by gentle cold pressing of unroasted organic sesame seeds and is not refined. As a result, the oil retains its characteristic subtle natural odour and natural accompanying substances.
From a formulation perspective, the fatty acid profile is shaped in particular by oleic and linoleic acid, complemented by palmitic acid. Sesame oil also contains natural antioxidant accompanying substances and vitamins. The oil can be combined with other plant oils and incorporated into oil blends and the oil phase of emulsions.
The product is suitable for body and massage oils, creams and lotions, hair and scalp care and other cosmetic formulations. For formulations with a more neutral sensory profile, sesame oil is also available as a refined organic grade.
