Product description
Cold-pressed organic evening primrose oil is a distinctive speciality oil for cosmetic formulations. The golden-yellow oil has a slightly sweet, nutty odour and is characterised by its combination of linoleic acid and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA).
The oil is obtained from evening primrose seeds by gentle cold pressing. Virgin processing preserves the oil’s characteristic golden-yellow colour and slightly sweet, nutty odour.
From a formulation perspective, the high linoleic acid content and a gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) content of min. 9% are particularly relevant. The profile is complemented by natural accompanying substances such as polyphenols and vitamin E. Evening primrose oil is typically used neat or as a proportion of oil blends and emulsions. Due to its unsaturated fatty acid profile, oxidative stability should be taken into account during storage and formulation development.
The product is suitable for facial and body oils, creams and lotions, serums and other cosmetic formulations.
