Product description
Cold-pressed organic calophyllum oil, internationally also known as tamanu oil, is a distinctive speciality oil for cosmetic formulations. The dark green oil is characterised by its intense, spicy scent and its natural content of minor lipid constituents, and is suitable for care concepts that call for an expressive plant oil.
The oil is obtained by gentle cold pressing from the seeds of the calophyllum tree. Processing the oil as a virgin oil preserves its characteristic dark green colour and intense natural scent.
In formulation terms, calophyllum oil has a balanced ratio of oleic and linoleic acid. It is also characterised by natural minor lipid constituents, in particular resins and essential oil components. Due to its pronounced sensory profile, the oil is often used in partial amounts and can be combined with base oils or incorporated into the oil phase of emulsions.
The product is suitable for facial and body oils, balms, salves, emulsions and other cosmetic care formulations.
