Organic hemp seed oil is a distinctive plant oil for food applications and is characterised by its high proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3), linoleic acid (omega-6) and gamma-linolenic acid shape the fatty acid profile of the oil. Its intense green-yellow colour and spicy, nutty to herbaceous natural odour give the oil its typical character.
The oil is obtained by gentle cold pressing from the seeds of industrial hemp. Virgin processing preserves the characteristic colour and the typical natural odour of the oil.
In formulation terms, hemp seed oil is characterised by its high content of alpha-linolenic acid and linoleic acid. Its balanced fatty acid profile makes it a versatile edible oil for a wide range of food concepts. Owing to its high proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids, the oil should not be heated strongly.
Obtained by pressing without external heat, then filtered – neither refined nor deodorised.
