Mustard Seed Oil cold-pressed, organic

Cold-pressed organic mustard seed oil is a distinctive plant oil for cosmetic formulations. The oil has a pronounced, typical mustard character and is notable for its high oleic acid content. Because of its distinctive sensory profile, it is typically used as a proportion of a formulation.

The oil is obtained from mustard seeds by gentle cold pressing and is not refined. A low erucic acid content is characteristic of this grade. Virgin processing preserves the typical character of the mustard seed oil.

From a formulation perspective, the fatty acid profile is dominated by oleic acid, complemented by linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3). Mustard seed oil can be combined with other plant oils as well as with butters and waxes and incorporated into anhydrous formulations or the oil phase of emulsions. Its pronounced character should be taken into account when developing the product and fragrance concept.

The product is suitable for massage oils, body care, balms, hair and scalp care and other cosmetic formulations.
