Linseed Oil cold-pressed, organic

Cold-pressed organic linseed oil is a distinctive plant oil with a high proportion of alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3). The golden-yellow oil has a pronounced natural odour of linseed and is suitable for cosmetic formulations that call for a polyunsaturated fatty acid profile.

The oil is obtained by gentle cold pressing from linseed. Processing the oil as a virgin oil preserves its characteristic golden-yellow colour and pronounced natural odour.

In formulation terms, the fatty acid profile is shaped in particular by alpha-linolenic acid, complemented by linoleic, oleic and palmitic acid. Due to the high proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids, the oil’s susceptibility to oxidation should be taken into account during storage and formulation development. The use of suitable antioxidants can be part of the formulation concept.

The product is suitable for facial and body oils, creams and lotions as well as hair and scalp care formulations.
