Neem oil, organic

Product-Description of Neem oil, organic

The cold-pressed neem oil, organic has a yellow-brown colour and smells intensely spicy. Depending on the temperature, it is viscous to liquid. Neem oil is characterised by unique fatty substances that have a disinfecting effect. We obtain our neem oil from an Indian family business, the seeds come from controlled wild collection.
Our neem oil is BIO, COSMOS, NATRUE and KOSHER certified. It can be stored for at least 24 months. It is available from 1kg.

Focus on ingredients of Neem oil, organic

The fatty acid spectrum of neem oil is dominated by the caring oleic acid and the protective stearic acid. The unsaponifiable substances of neem oil are exceptional: Thanks to gentle pressing, the triterpinoid azadirachtin is contained in our neem oil at over 1,700ppm. Traditionally, azadirachtin is used as an insecticide. In skin and hair care, azadirachtin has an antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal effect in combination with other limonoids. The anti-inflammatory properties are supported by the linoleic acid also contained in neem oil.

Application cosmetics of Neem oil, organic

Neem oil has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries to treat skin problems such as acne or eczema. The disinfecting properties of the active ingredient oil can help regulate blemished skin: Neem oil has a clarifying and intensively nourishing effect at the same time. Neem oil has also proven its worth for the care of irritated, flaky scalps. Shampoos or lotions with neem oil can soothe and strengthen the scalp. In addition, neem oil is ideal for the care of cracked or inflamed cuticles. Neem oil is also valued in oral care (e.g. in toothpaste) for its disinfecting effect. Neem oil not only protects plants from harmful insects, but can also be used on humans as a natural mosquito repellent.

Selected organic projects

Our organic neem oil is produced by an Indian family business that has been in existence for over 40 years. The seeds of the neem tree come from controlled wild collection and are mainly harvested by women in the period from August to October. They are able to earn their own income and provide schooling for their children.
The neem tree Azadirachta indica, which is widespread in India, defies the hot tropical climate and is undemanding. It keeps insects away and is also known as the village pharmacy: Not only the seeds, but also the leaves or the bark of the tree are traditionally used in herbal medicine.
In our supplier's oil mill, the neem seeds are gently cold pressed and double filtered. The press cake of the neem oil is reused for compost and fertiliser and is thus fed back into the agricultural cycle. Thanks to the production of the neem oil in India, the added value remains to a large extent locally.
